Tea?

Welcome to the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Oxfordshire.

We are a charity providing therapies and support to people with MS, living in and around Oxfordshire.  Our aim is to improve the lives of people affected by MS, by offering complementary therapies, information and practical support.

Affordable

Because we are a charity, we are able to offer complementary therapies for a smaller donation than the price that you would expect to pay in a private setting.  Further reductions are available for members on means tested benefits.

Our aim is to ensure that our centre is as affordable as possible, providing real support to all those affected by MS.

Approachable

On the About Us page, we explain more about the Centre and how it operates.  We are a charity for people with MS founded and led by people with MS.

There's a huge amount of information specifically for people with MS. We've made your task easier on the MS Resources page, pulling together a list of resources we think you might find useful.  At the Centre we have an Info Point with books and leaflets on MS, as well as a PC for internet searches.

Accessible

We hope you'll find time soon to get in touch and come and visit the Therapy Centre.  We will welcome you if you are fit enough to run a marathon or need to use our wheelchair ramp or are somewhere in between.  All our contact details, and a location map are on the Get in touch page. We look forward to meeting you very soon !

Fund Raising 2012 - Cathy Burgess fundraising climb to Kilimanjaro.

On 24th February 2012 Cathy Burgess will be departing for Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro which is 5,895 meters above sea level.  All being well she should summit on 1st March.  The trek involves 6 consequetive days of walking at least 6 to 8 hours per day and the summit night is 11 hours of extreme walking, climbing steep scree slopes at altitude.    Cathy has done absolutely no exercise for at least 3 years, so it has been a major undertaking for her to start from scratch and build up her fitness.  Her motivation not only just because 'it's there', but Cathy has a big birthday next year (I'd better not say which one!!) and it was a good excuse to start to get fit and challenger herself this 'olympic' year.  Cathy has done treks for charity before, once to the Andes and another to Nepal.  Cathy's partner John Stevens (Facilities Manager for MEPC Milton Park) strongly suggested raising money for the MS therapy centre.  Cathy has been to the centre's last 2 annual quiz nights (their team won in 2011) and Cathy has become increasingly aware of the impact MS has on people.  Cathy says she's incredibly lucky to be able to go to the gym, run and climb mountains - so she is honoured to be supporting MS Therapy as part of her challenge.  We wish Cathy good luck in her venture.  If you would like to donate visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/cathyonkili.  Go Cathy!!!
