Need some information?

The Info Point at the Centre

Use our Information Point!

We've collected together a significant number of leaflets, books and other publications relevant to those with MS.  The Info Point was created jointly with the MS Society Oxford Branch.  This means we provide a PC connected to the internet for the use of our members and others affected by MS.

Come in and have a look; and at the same time take the opportunity to chat to others with MS.

What is MS?

Question

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 100,000 people in the UK have been diagnosed with MS.

MS is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system.

When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body.

For some people, MS is characterised by periods of relapse and remission while for others it has a progressive pattern. For everyone, it makes life unpredictable.

Taken from the MS Society Website, which contains a huge amount of information on MS
